OndoSense has expanded its range of high-performance industrial sensors with the introduction of the OndoSense reach radar sensor. This new sensor is based on the world’s first micrometer-accurate distance radar, the OndoSense apex. The OndoSense reach is designed for distance measurement, object detection, and positioning, offering exceptional performance and reliability tailored to the needs of industrial automation.

Combining millimeter accuracy, high measuring speed, and a wide measuring range, the OndoSense reach is one of the smallest distance sensors available on the radar market, making it suitable for use in confined spaces and for short measuring distances. Its innovative radar technology enables reliable measurement even in challenging production environments with dirt, smoke, steam, rain, poor light conditions, or rough surfaces.

The OndoSense reach is suitable for automating outdoor applications in agriculture, mining, transport, and logistics, as well as for factory automation in the manufacturing industry.

The OndoSense reach is one of the smallest radar sensors, with an M30 housing design and a length of 92 millimeters. This makes it suitable for applications in confined spaces with short measuring distances. It offers a measurement accuracy of ± 2 mm and a measuring rate of 100 Hertz, making it suitable for various applications. The sensor’s measuring range starts at 0.2 meters and reaches up to 40 meters.

Equipped with an RS485 communication protocol, an analog current interface (4-20 mA), and three digital switching outputs (PNP/NPN), the OndoSense reach provides industrial interfaces for data transmission to the programmable logic controller (PLC). The sensor can connect to other interfaces such as Profinet or CAN via a gateway.

The OndoSense reach radar sensor enables reliable and precise measurement results even in challenging conditions, such as dirt, steam, rain, snow, poor light, light flashes, or rough surfaces. With its dust-proof, jet water-proof housing (IP 67) and resistant PTFE lens, this robust sensor is suitable for demanding production environments and outdoor applications.
