GW Instek has launched a high DC voltage safety analyzer model, the GPT-15012, designed to meet the rigorous standards of IEC 61010-2-034. This standard governs the safety requirements for electrical equipment in measurement, control, and laboratory settings, specifically targeting devices for insulation resistance and electric strength testing. The analyzer ensures user safety by adhering to strict hardware and software interface requirements. It is ideal for testing high-voltage insulation products like energy storage components, photovoltaic modules, relays, and wiring.

The company claims the analyzer can perform DC-withstanding voltage and insulation resistance tests. It features a highly efficient PWM amplifier that mitigates the impact of fluctuating input voltages or distorted waveforms, ensuring stable high-voltage output.  Safety enhancements include a double insulation design for the power supply and output voltages and a retractable START key to prevent accidental high-voltage activation. Optional safety mechanisms, such as dual-button activation and a hold-to-start function, further secure the testing process—visual and audible indicators alert users to test statuses and results, enhancing operational safety.

The analyzer boasts a 7-inch colour TFT LCD and maintains the simple essential design typical of its product family, allowing straightforward operation and clear result display. It supports DC withstanding voltage tests up to 12 kV/10 mA and insulation resistance tests from 50 V to 5000 V, up to 50 GΩ. Features like adjustable voltage ramp settings, precise measurement resolutions, and extensive capacitance testing capabilities make this model versatile for various applications.

Additional functions include a statistical feature that records test items, counts, and outcomes, displaying them in bar graph form directly on the unit, eliminating the need for a PC during manufacturing. The sweep function aids in analysing product failure points by displaying voltage-current relationship curves. EIntegration features such as barcode scanning, rear output terminals, and front panel remote control are included, catering to sophisticated system setups and operational ease.
