Pico Technology Ltd. has announced the expansion of the PicoScope 3000 series with the introduction of USB-powered oscilloscopes with a 5 GS/s sampling rate. The models, with 350 MHz and 500 MHz bandwidth, offer a 10-bit resolution, which can be enhanced to 14 bits. These devices are designed for waveform measurement and analysis in test and measurement equipment.

The latest updates to the series are designed to cater to the varied requirements of engineers, technicians, and researchers globally by integrating advanced technology with an accessible design. The new models boast significant features such as a 500 MHz bandwidth, a 5 GS/s sampling rate, and a 10-bit resolution.

These oscilloscopes come equipped with a 2 GS ultra-deep capture memory, enabling long-duration signals to be captured at the maximum sampling rate. Additionally, including a 200 MS/s 14-bit AWG/Function generator eliminates the need for external equipment by providing capabilities for real-world waveform generation across various applications. Connectivity and setup are streamlined with a USB 3.0 Type-C connection that ensures high-speed data transfer and compatibility with the newest generation of PCs.

The oscilloscopes include 38 serial decoders as standard, aiding in analysing serial bus communications and simplifying debugging and troubleshooting processes. Other features, such as segmented memory, persistence, and fast waveform updates, enhance waveform visualisation and analysis, allowing for the efficient extraction of valuable insights. Advanced maths, measurements, masks, and digital triggering tools provide in-depth waveform characterisation and interpretation. Users can also customise actions to respond to events during long-duration, unattended soak tests automatically.

Trevor Smith, T&M Product Manager at Pico Technology, expressed his excitement: “With the introduction of our two new PicoScope 3000E series oscilloscopes, we’re redefining the boundaries of mainstream electronic test and waveform analysis. These instruments enable innovation, precision and limitless possibilities, one waveform at a time.”
